How is WiFi different from Internet? The internet is a giant network made up of tons of smaller, local networks. And a router gives your devices access to this network.A local network, for example, could include your router, your computer, and your wireless printer. Your computer can send a PDF to the printer via a WiFi connection. And all without internet!
Layers in any networking model are simply abstractions to help you design better. It is a way to clearly separate functions and stay focused on the service you are trying to build. For example, the Physical Layer (in the TCP/IP or even the OSI model) is all about how to transmit a bit (0 or 1) from one end and receive the same bit in the other end. Typical service problems to answer are which voltage will translate to a bit, how long it will take to travel over a physical medium etc. So when you are designing a service in that layer you don’t get distracted by QoS, password security etc, because they will be answered in another layer (higher abstraction), like the Presentation or the Application layer.
You must be thinking that you have solved half the puzzle as “Wi” must stand for “wireless,” right?! Well, not really! Contrary to popular belief that it is short for something, it, in fact, does not mean anything. Though many people believe that Wi-Fi stands for wireless fidelity,
