Abstract

This project presents an Arduino-based automatic attendance system using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Each student is assigned an RFID card containing a unique identifier. When the card is placed near the MFRC522 reader, the Arduino validates the identifier, records the student entry, and displays a confirmation message. A real-time clock can provide accurate date and time information, while an SD card, serial interface, Wi-Fi module, or web server can store and visualize attendance records. The system reduces manual paperwork, supports faster attendance collection, and improves record organization. The prototype can be extended with duplicate-scan prevention, cloud dashboards, SMS or email notifications, and role-based access for staff.
