Eee Projects On Anti Sleep Alarm For Drivers Using Eye Blink Sensor: Power Electronics, MATLAB/Simulink & Circuit Modeling Integrated Analysis: MATLAB/Simulink · MOSFET/IGBT Gate Drivers · SPWM/SVPWM · THD Spectrum · ~5208 Words Chapter 1: Power Electronics Overview, System Specifications & Topology Modeling Driver drowsiness is one of the prime causes of death in road accidents across the world. While conventional safety features implemented after an accident, preventive technologies can reduce crashes before they happen . This project proposes an advanced driver monitoring system based on an eye blink sensor that detects symptoms of drowsiness in real time. If the driver becomes tired, the system produces an audible alarm to wake the driver. If the driver fails to respond, the system takes preventive action by shutting down the vehicle's motor , preventing potential accidents.
Analytical & State-Space Control Methodology
Current automobile safety features, such as airbags and seat belts , are reactive safety features —they only reduce damage after a crash. Some modern cars come equipped with driver monitoring systems, such as lane departure warning and steering pattern analysis , but these techniques utilize indirect measures of distraction, which could be delayed or inaccurate . The interventions of human operators, such as taking breaks or trusting someone else to notice, are also inefficient and error-prone .
Simulink Waveforms & Power Quality Findings
The proposed solution is free from these limitations by directly monitoring the alertness of the driver using an eye blink sensor . The system monitors blink rate and eye closure time , which are primary symptoms of sleepiness. The data is processed using an Arduino microcontroller , which decides if the driver is dozing off. If drowsiness is detected: Figure 1: Power Converter Circuit Schematic & Electrical Interfacing for Eee Projects On Anti Sleep Alarm For Drivers Using Eye Blink Sensor Through the integration of automation, real-time detection, and preventive action , the system transforms road safety.
