Operational Methodology & Framework
Project Video Project Summary Overview This project, sponsored by Exacta Global Smart Solutions, aims to develop a next-generation bike-sharing system addressing challenges in energy efficiency, communication reliability, and scalability. By leveraging the oneM2M IoT standard and DECT NR+ technology, the solution offers a sustainable and scalable platform for urban mobility. Objectives Build a web-based dashboard to enable efficient management and real-time monitoring of data and devices. Develop a scalable system architecture to ensure seamless communication and integration. Implement energy-efficient communication between device and cloud to reduce operational costs and power consumption. Approach Web Dashboard: Designed using Django, the dashboard centralizes device management, automates resource configurations, and provides real-time data visualization. oneM2M Framework: Utilized as the core communication standard to facilitate seamless data exchange and scalable device integration.
Experimental Findings & Validation
DECT NR+ Mesh Network: Built using Nordic nRF9161 devices, enabling adaptive, energy-efficient, and self-healing communication for reliable device connectivity. Modular Resource Tree Design: Based on the oneM2M TS-0023 Smart Device Template, enabling standardized and scalable management and integration of devices. Outcomes Delivered a feature-rich web interface aligned with oneM2M standards, providing real-time bike location, performance metrics, interactive map views, and DECT NR+ network visualizations. Achieved a resource tree architecture that simplifies managing and integrating devices, reducing configuration overhead. Implemented DECT NR+ mesh communication for reliable, low-power, and data-efficient device operation. Incorporated light enclosures and components to ensure usability in urban environments.
