Electronics, MATLAB/Simulink & Circuit Modeling Integrated Analysis: MATLAB/Simulink · MOSFET/IGBT Gate Drivers · SPWM/SVPWM · THD Spectrum · ~4861 Words Chapter 1: Power Electronics Overview, System Specifications & Topology Modeling This project presents detailed modeling and analysis of a 9-bus electrical power system , utilizing MATLAB for theoretical simulations and ETAP for industrial-grade validation. The study illustrates the process of comprehensive network modeling, mathematical formulation, simulation of load flow under variable load conditions, and detailed result comparison between academic and engineering-standard environments.
Analytical & State-Space Control Methodology
The following schematic illustrates the network topology, including three generators, multiple loads, and their connectivity via transmission lines and transformers. Comprehensive data for all transmission lines, generators, and transformers are collected as below, reflecting actual system values used in both simulation environments.
Simulink Waveforms & Power Quality Findings
Detailed system data are encoded in MATLAB arrays for buses , lines , generators , and transformers . The simulation leverages these structures to compute the system's performance at various load levels. Network bus specifications are coded as follows, using the standard format for bus type, voltage setpoints, generation, loads, and constraints: Transmission line and transformer data (including connection, electrical parameters, and tap settings) are stored as: The bus admittance matrix, Ybus , is central to power system calculations, encapsulating the electrical connectivity and admittance structure of the entire network. Constructing an accurate Ybus is critical for correct analysis of network voltages, power flow, and losses.
