Abstract
Pick-and-place operations are fundamental in manufacturing, assembly and packaging lines. Pneumatic systems offer a clean, fast and cost-effective solution for medium-force handling of metal components without the complexity of servo-electric robots.
This project presents a Pneumatic Powered Metal Pick and Place Arm designed with multiple degrees of freedom using pneumatic cylinders for vertical lift, horizontal transfer and gripper actuation. The system is controlled via solenoid valves and a simple sequence controller.
It is an ideal final-year project for mechanical and mechatronics students focusing on fluid power, industrial automation, mechanism design and fabrication practices.
