Abstract
Sports grounds, athletic tracks and temporary road layouts require clear, straight and uniform lines. Traditional hand marking with string and powder is time-consuming and inconsistent. A mechanical ground line marking machine improves speed, accuracy and repeatability.
This project develops a Ground Line Marking Machine that carries a hopper of chalk or paint and dispenses it in a controlled stream or band as the unit is moved forward. Key subsystems include the wheeled frame, material hopper, metering or gravity dispenser, marking outlet (wheel or nozzle), guide roller or pointer, and handle for operator control. The unit demonstrates practical machine design for ground maintenance applications suitable for academic evaluation.
It is an excellent final-year project for Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering students, combining fabrication, material handling and field utility.
